Castleblayney Drama Festival committee is run by local volunteers. We organise two drama festivals every year in Iontas Theatre. The festivals form part of the nationwide Open and Confined amateur drama circuit which culminates in Finals held in different parts of the country.

For nine nights, late February-early March, we invite drama groups from around the island of Ireland to perform their full-length plays. Each night a different play – season Tickets available.

In early November we run a weekend festival of one-act (max 55 minutes) plays. Audiences can watch a variety of drama over three sessions as a total of nine groups visit the town. Weekend tickets available.
