There was great excitement at Our Lady’s Secondary School, Castleblayney last week as construction work officially commenced on the school’s new extension which will see them gain an additional 13 classrooms. The extension will comprise of a three storey extension that will link in with the main school building. It comprises of 9 general classrooms, 2 Science labs with preparation areas, 1 Art room and a Technology room. The extension includes the replacement of prefabs at the main school building, some of which have been in pace for decades. The works will be undertaken by Glebe Builders and it is expected that the project will be completed by the first quarter of 2023.
This year Our Lady’s Secondary School celebrates the 50th anniversary (Golden jubilee) of its founding in 1971. The new extension which prepares for the school future, is a perfect way to mark that historic event.
