The 45 foot lorry from Castleblayney with the collected items and materials which were destined for the Polish border with Ukraine as a means of support for those who have been affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, arrived in the town of Tomaszow Lubolski late on Tuesday evening. The driver of the lorry John Clinton who is one of McArdle Skeaths most experienced drivers made the five day journey by ferry to Cherbourg through France, Belgium, Germany and Poland was met on his arrival by Magdalena Tereszczuk who is the main coordinator employed through the Council of Tomaszow Lubolski. The supplies on the lorry when unloaded will be distributed between the refugees who arrived in the Polish town and also will make its way across the border into Ukraine.
Pete McMahon Chairperson of Castleblayney Community Enterprise praised the efforts and generosity of all those who donated to the appeal, which culminated in the filling of a 45 foot container supplied by McArdle Skeath for the collection. He acknowledged the huge gesture by the Board and management of McArdle Skeath who had so readily and generously agreed to transport the consignment to the Polish border at their own expense. He thanked in particular the personal support given by both Siobhan and Ciaran McArdle.
