Final works to one of the Castle Gate Lodges is nearly completed and the new town library facility is expected to open in September.

The gate lodge to the left of the entrance of the Muckno estate which was built in the 1860s was fully refurbished and an extension was added to the rear by local contractors Broomfield Construction. The new facility will now house the Town Library which is presently operating out of rental accommodation in the Iontas Centre.

The Gate House Lodge on the right-hand side was fully refurbished in 2016 and with the new part now completed has greatly added to the appearance and the importance of the entrance to the estate.
