An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar TD Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment and Minister Heather Humphreys Department for Rural and Community Development jointly performed the official opening of a new modern Digital Hub Facility at Castleblayney Enterprise Centre.
The new facility offers a number of hot desk options as well as small glass pod offices which can be hired on a daily or weekly basis by those seeking to work remotely or to benefit from faster broadband speeds.
Speaking at the unveiling Tánaiste Leo Varadkar stated “Remote working won’t suit everyone, but it will suit many. It cuts down on commuting, means more time at home or in the community, and can help to increase productivity. It can also be a huge boost for rural towns and villages boosting footfall and local spend. So it’s fantastic to see this expanded remote working facility in Castleblayney…
Speaking on behalf of Castleblayney Community Enterprise Pete McMahon Chairman thanked the Tánaiste and Minister Humphreys for attending to perform the official opening of their new Digital Hub facility. He said, “the Board of Castleblayney Community Enterprise were delighted that this new addition to their invaluable resource in Castleblayney will allow many local people work from their hometown and cut down on unnecessary commuting to major cities and towns”. He said, “the Board are grateful for the personal support they received in relation to their successful outcomes they received under both the Grant Programmes Covid 19 Enterprise Ireland grant Programme titled Powering the Regions, Enterprise Centre Fund and the Connected Hubs Call and thank in particular Minister Heather Humphreys TD and Mr Aidan Mc Kenna Regional Manager of Enterprise Ireland”.
The event which was restricted in numbers due to COVID 19 also included attendance by Senator Joe O’Reilly, Aidan McKenna Regional Manager Enterprise Ireland, Aidan Campbell Cathaoirleach Monaghan County Council, Cllr. Mary Kerr Conlon, Paul Clifford Director of Services Monaghan County Council, Finbarr Daly CEO Enterprising Monaghan, Paul Shortt Chairman Enterprising Monaghan and members of the Board and staff of Castleblayney Community Enterprise.
