Castleblayney Hurling Club Qualify for All Ireland Semi-Final

Castleblayney Hurlers traveled to Pairc na hEireann, Birmingham on Sunday last 25th November to face Great Britain champions John Mitchels of Warwickshire in the All Ireland JHC quarter-final and emerged victorious after another epic comeback.

Blayney Hurlers once again came from behind to beat John Mitchels with an exciting second half performance.

The home side went into half time in the lead but through the heroics of the players and the spirit of the traveling Blayney fans, Castleblayney Hurlers were victorious as they played out an action packed second half.

With the breeze behind them, Blayney drew level in the final minutes of the game and after a pin point passage of play Blayney found the back of the net sending the traveling support wild.

Mitchels fought back honourably but Castleblayney Hurlers proved too much for the Birmingham based team as the match finished with Blayney 2-11 to Mitchels 1-10.

This result means that Castleblayney Hurlers will face Carrick-on-Shannon for a semi-final clash early in the New Year.
