Liz weaves her way to Matthews Arts success

Local hand-weaver Liz Christy is the latest winner of the nationally acclaimed Arts Showcase initiative. Liz’s 3.6 metre ad with images of her colourful hand-woven scarves and the range of LizzyC Sheep Gift Collection will be seen on some of the Matthews 133 daily bus services between Dublin and the north east from this week.

Well known for her colourful hand-woven scarves Liz is inspired by art and in particular, paintings by her favourite painter, Claude Monet. She has also designed a collection of scarves inspired by the much loved drumlins hills of County Monaghan and of course, the beautiful Bragan, which is raised bog mountain in the north of the county.

Very proud of her county's lace making heritage, Liz has designed a range which is a tribute to that heritage. Her Renaissance Collection is a woven lace using fine cottons and authentic Donegal spun wools.
