St. Mary's Hospital, Castleblayney will hold their Annual Monster Sale on Saturday 4th November from 10am-6pm and Sunday 5th November from 12pm-4pm.

Local lady Lisa Rooney will host a Tea/Coffee Morning on 27th October in GFC Centre, Oram after 10am mass at St. Patricks Church. The event is part of `Cups Against Breast Cancer` 
campaign.
All proceeds raised will be donated to Breast Cancer Research and patients across Ireland.
There will also be a raffle held on the morning with attractive prizes to be won.

The local Church of Ireland and Muckno Parish have once again teamed up with Irish Charity; Team Hope for this year’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal. The shoebox appeal gives hope and happiness to children, who may not otherwise celebrate the significance of Christmas and the holiday season.
Donations would be much appreciated from the Castleblayney community. The appeal is asking people to contribute school supplies, small clothing items, toiletries (no liquids), musical instruments, toys, jewellery/make-up for girls aged 12 to 14 etc.
Filled shoe boxes or just fillers can be left in Church of Ireland Office on Church Street, Castleblayney or in the Muckno Parish Centre, Monday to Friday between 9.30am to 3.30pm. All items needed by 1st November.

Macra na Feirme as a national organisation is officially celebrating 75 years of existence this year. An event is being held on the 2nd November in the Glencarn Hotel, Castleblayney, to allow former and current clubs and members in County Monaghan to mark this significant milestone. The event will be attended by a number of invited guests and will include presentations to mark the 75th Anniversary. This ticket event will consist of a buffet reception and gets underway at 8pm. 
Macra, nationally, began when a small group of farmers and rural science teachers set up discussion groups in Athy (Kildare), Killmallock (Limerick) and Mooncoin (Killkenny) with a view to educating themselves on methods of farming.
Encouraged by the reaction locally and aware of a similar response to the efforts of their colleagues elsewhere, the organisers in all three areas were eager to pursue the development of the Young Farmer Club idea on a larger scale. A meeting was called for 29th September 1944 at Newman House, St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin. The purpose – to discuss the creation of a National Organisation of Young Farmers Clubs.
