Cycle Against Suicide; Cyclists to Pass Through Castleblayney

Cycle Against Suicide  is an initiative started by Irish entrepreneur, Jim Breen, as a result of his appearance on RTE’s The Secret Millionaire programme. The main objective of the Cycle is to raise awareness of the considerable help and supports that are available for anyone battling depression, self-harm, at risk of suicide or those bereaved by suicide.

This year’s cycle, the organisation’s fifth, began on Sunday 23rd and will continue until May 6th, with a detailed outline of the route below.

On Wednesday evening, 26th April, between 6.30 and 7pm the participating cyclists will arrive in Castleblayney, with as many people as possible asked to show their support.

On Thursday morning the cyclists will continue their journey towards Bailieborough by way of Lough Egish and Shercock.

Also on Thursday morning, Our Lady’s Secondary School, Castleblayney will host a talk on Mental Health.

“Together, shoulder to shoulder, we can break the cycle of suicide on the island of Ireland”
