Today, 10th March, a consignment of food, clothes and essential items, left Castleblayney with donated supplies and items for the Ukrainian refugees at the Ukrainian Polish border. The aid consignment will travel to the polish town of Tomaszów Lubelski near the Ukrainian border where staff of the town council will take charge of the delivery for distribution to those refugees who crossed the border and also to their counter parts across the border in Ukraine.
This campaign was organised by the staff and board of Castleblayney Enterprise Centre in cooperation with Mc Ardle Skeath and took place over the past three days.
People of Castleblayney and surrounding areas did not hesitate to donate to the cause in such a short time. It was very emotional to see so many locals willing to support the refugees and their generosity was remarkable.
Castleblayney Enterprise Centre wish to thank all those who generously and unselfishly donated to this very worthy cause and to thank all these who assisted with the boxing and packaging over the past three days. A special mention also to the staff of the Carrickmacross/Castleblayney Municipal District for their help and the use of their premises.
Finally, a large thanks and acknowledgement to Mc Ardle Skeath, particularly Siobhan and Ciaran Mc Ardle, who have made the delivery of the supplies to those in need possible.
