A number of local watercolour enthusiasts attended a workshop in Castleblayney Enterprise Centre as part of their continued involvement in this adult education programme delivered by the Enterprise Centre.

The workshop was delivered by Kasper Zier a well know Danish artist now living and working in Dublin. Kasper is a member of The Watercolour Society of Ireland and won the Presidents Award in 2024 for his painting “Morning Light”.

In April the members of the local watercolour group will welcome a group of 13 watercolour artists from Caudete in Spain who will be in Castleblayney for 4 days under the Erasmus + Programme. The visiting group will be led by Spanish watercolour artist Antonio Requena Solera who will conduct a number of workshops in town involving participants from Caudete and Castleblayney. The event is being organised by Castleblayney Community Enterprise in conjunction with their Spanish counterpart Ayuntamiento De Caudete in Spain.
