Last Friday Santa came to Castleblayney town to switch on the Christmas lights.  He spectacularly arrived in fire engine and after meeting some of young children who were gathered there, proceeded to switch on the town lights.  The event was organised by Castleblayney Regeneration Committee.  Much praise goes to Monaghan County Council’s staff, who worked so hard over the previous weeks put the lights in place.  The colourful and bright display of the Christmas lights creates warm Christmas atmosphere and will be a huge asset to the town in attracting shoppers and visitors over the Christmas period.
