Castleblayney Drama Festival committee has the honour of hosting the 2023 All Ireland One Act Finals which will be held in Iontas Theatre over the weekend December 1st-3rd.
In addition to the annual Castleblayney Drama Festival in March, the local committee has been busy organising this drama-packed event, when eleven drama groups from around the country will compete for the winners’ and category awards. The groups have been travelling to various festivals over October and November to gain points that will lead them to the Finals.
The official opening on Friday 1st will be carried out by Monaghan man, Declan Gorman, writer, actor and all-round theatre exponent.
There has been huge interest in this event, which will be held in four sessions of two or three plays per session (plays have a running time of 25-50 minutes). Tickets have sold so fast that there could be a waiting list!
