During his visit to County Monaghan An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar TD Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment paid a visit the site at McGrath road which is under construction for the new Ridge project. Taking its name from the Irish townland Droim Iolaird (Ridge of the Eagle) The Ridge will comprise of business orientated workspace and facilities of exceptional quality. This will be a modern 3 storey building above a lower ground floor/basement area and has potential for 24 business units offering adaptability and flexibility.
The construction of the building which emerged from needs identified in a feasibility study prepared by Castleblayney Community Enterprise will be completed in September 2022.
The Tánaiste was accompanied on his visit by Minister Heather Humphreys TD, Department for Rural and Community Development. The Ridge received funding under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund (RRDF) which is administered through Minister Humphreys Department.
The purpose of the fund is to support job creation in rural areas, address de-population of rural communities and support improvements in our towns and villages with a population of less than 10,000, and outlying areas.
