Castleblayney Annual Fair Day

The 6th annual Fair Day will take place on Sunday 30th September on the Main Street, Castleblayney. This much anticipated event will be opened by County music star, John Glenn at 12pm.

The town will once again be transported back to the early 1900’s, re-creating a Fair similar to that of what would have taken place in towns across Ireland for hundreds of years. On the day the historic scene will be visually enhanced through all manner of props, costumes, photographs, period clothing and a sprinkling of nostalgia from interesting tales of the good old days! So why not get into the spirit of the day by dressing up in period clothing and getting involved! Fancy dress shop - False Impressions in the Enterprise Centre can hire out adult & children costumes.

The Main Street of Castleblayney will be buzzing with sights, sounds and smells of years gone by. There will be vintage machinery, blacksmiths, number of stalls with home bakes & crafts, small animals and poultry on the street and buskers will be adding to the musical atmosphere, which will include dancing on the street.

There will also be amusements for children, host of prizes for various best dressed categories and much more.

So be sure to come along to absorb the wonderful atmosphere and enjoy the day!
