Castleblayney Town Wins Merit Award

Castleblayney has won a merit award at the Bank of Ireland National Enterprising Town awards ceremony which were announced Wednesday 15th November in Tullamore.

The competition, sponsored by the Bank of Ireland, aims to assist in the promotion of enterprise by bringing business and community together to showcase to a panel of judges the spirit of enterprise in their local area.

In September the Castleblayney Regeneration Committee presented a comprehensive overview of the enterprising and community spirit of the town as part of the entry in this competition. Following the presentation which was attended by a large cross section of the local community, the judges were escorted around the Castleblayney area, with visits to Lough Muckno, Main Street, Irish Homecare, Shabra, Kingspan and Concra Wood.
