Castleblayney College student to bring local WW1 soldier story to life

5th year student Jessica Hanratty from Castleblayney was chosen to participate in My Adopted Soldier project 2017. She was one of only 15 students from all over Ireland that were selected for this project.

At the launch of My Adopted Soldier in Collins Barracks, Jessica presented the research she did on Daniel McGinn from Cullovile who died in the battle of Landmark during World War One.

In June students from all over Ireland, North and South will join 15 students from Germany on a trip to Belgium to remember soldiers from both sides of the conflict who died in the Ypres Region of Belgium in WW1.
