Last Thursday 29th October saw the launch of the Castleblayney Shop & Stay Town Voucher initiative in Iontas, Castleblayney.
A large crowd, mainly comprising of local business and retail owners attended the launch which included addresses from Annmarie Mc Hugh; Chairperson of Castleblayney Regeneration Committee, Martina Quinn; Churchview Gardens and Paul Clifford Monaghan County Council Director of Services, Economic Development and guest speaker Keith Hartford, who delivered a presentation on the advantages of business development and progression.
The Castleblayney Regeneration Committee are instigating this initiative with the belief that it is vital people are encouraged to buy local vouchers to keep jobs and business in our community.
The vouchers are on sale in three locations in the town; The Post Office, The Cozy Cafe and Churchview Garden Centre.
They are available in denominations of €20 and €10 vouchers. Recipients of the Castleblayney Town Voucher can use their voucher in over 80 participating stores in Castleblayney.

On the night also, Martina Quinn; on behalf of the Castleblayney Regeneration Committee unveiled the group’s plans for a Christmas marketing campaign.
The Castleblayney Regeneration Committee meet monthly with staff members of the Carrickmacross and Castleblayney Municipal Area to investigate and progress plans for town and trade development.
