Countdown to Christmas in Castleblayney

Black Friday

Friday 27th of November will mark the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in Castleblayney. To mark this, Castleblayney Regeneration Committee, with the support from local retailers and businesses are hosting a Black Friday event. Black Friday is traditionally celebrated on the day after Thanksgiving in America and sees retailers offering promotional deals in store. Castleblayney retailers have embraced this tradition this year with many shops and businesses offering great special offers such as;

• 50% off all silver in The Jewellers
• A free glass of wine or dessert with lunch at the Glencarn Hotel
• Half price residential valuations by DNG John O’ Brien
• Great specials in hair and beauty treatments
• Up to 25% off clothing and footwear
• Huge savings in restaurants and take aways on the day
• PC repair, car servicing, gifts, electronics and much more on offer.
More Black Friday deals will be available on our facebook page www.facebook.com/castleblayneyshopandstay
Throughout the day we will be giving away some spot prizes to some lucky people. These will be announced throughout the day so listen out for the speakers on the main street.

Find Santa’s Elf Window Hunt
Some children from our local primary schools have been busy naming and colouring Santa’s Elves. Over the festive weekend children and their parents are welcome to take part in a window hunt to find Santa’s Elves. The elves will be hidden in shop windows and we encourage families to get involved by finding all of Santa’s Elves. Entry forms will be available from Thursday 26th November in Katie Duffy’s and Monchichi’s on the Main Street. Once you have found all the Elves you can return your entry form to these shops and be entered into a competition.

Santa in the Park and Light Switch On.
As part of the festivities in Castleblayney, we are proud to confirm that Santa is attending Wilbert’s Enchanted Playpark at Lough Muckno on Sunday the 29th November 2015. Santa will arrive from the North Pole and will arrive into Muckno Park by boat at around 3.30pm. Santa will lead the Santa parade from the Park to the Glencarn and through Main Street from 4.15pm and he will switch on the Christmas lights at the Market House at around 4:45pm. Santa will see all the children down in his grotto in Lough Muckno from 5 O’clock onwards, with plenty to entertain the children and adults, including face painting, train rides, Carousel and Giant snowman.

Please wrap up and come along for a family fun day.
