Castleblayney Regeneration Committee along with support from Monaghan County Council and representatives of local community groups have come together to celebrate our late friend Big Tom McBride. A festival, ‘Castleblayney Celebrates Big Tom’ will take place in Castleblayney from 21st-23rd September 2018. A weekend of stories and song to celebrate the contribution Tom made to country music both in Ireland and around the world. Below are some of the events planned over the course of the weekend. Follow us on facebook https://www.facebook.com/castleblayneyregeneration/ for up to date information and events.

In late 2016, Castleblayney Regeneration Committee and Monaghan County Council set about exploring the possibility of commissioning an art piece to celebrate Big Tom’s contribution to the community of Castleblayney.  At 3pm on Sunday the 23rd September we will unveil the final product, a beautiful statue of Big Tom.

A Big Tom Celebration Dance will close our festival on Sunday evening in the Glencarn Hotel featuring The Mainliners, John  Glenn, Margo, Dermot McBride, Paddy King, Country Harmony and special guests. Tickets available through The Glencarn Hotel.
