Castleblayney Regeneration Committee along with support from Monaghan County Council and representatives of local community groups have come together to celebrate our late friend Big Tom McBride. A festival, ‘Castleblayney Celebrates Big Tom’ will take place in Castleblayney from 21st-23rd September 2018. A weekend of stories and song to celebrate the contribution Tom made to country music both in Ireland and around the world.

Parking for Unveiling of Big Tom Statue

The unveiling of the Big Tom Statue will take place this Sunday 23rd September at 3pm at the Market House, which is located at the bottom of Main Street, Castleblayney.

Roads around the statue will be closed off to traffic and it is advised to use car parks which will be sign posted on the day. 

Bus car parks are outlined on the map below at Castleblayney College on the Dublin Road, behind Lidl at the DPD Depot on the Monaghan Road and at Blackhill GAA grounds on the Shercock Road.

Buses can drop off visitors at the bus stop on York Street, Castleblayney (across from Old Coach Inn) and proceed to bus parking then.
